Men's Ministry Lead
Curtis was born and grew up in Bellingham, Washington and lived his whole life in the Pacific Northwest. After high school, Curtis went to Washington State University where he completed a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. After graduation from WSU, he went to work for Boeing for 36 years. He retired from Boeing in 2016. While working for Boeing, he attended the University of Washington and completed a master’s degree in physics.
Curtis and Mary met at Highlands Community Church and were married in 1984. In 1989 they started attending Faith Church. They have three adult children (Joshua, Elizabeth, Christine) who all grew up at faith, and a daughter-in-law, Melissa. They also have a 2-year-old grandson, Jensen, who they get to take care of three days a week.
Curtis gave his life to Jesus in high school through the ministry of Young Life. He also served as a Young Life leader for four years while going to WSU. During our time at Faith, Curtis has served in various ministries from the nursery to teaching adult Sunday School. Frequently, Curtis and Mary participated in many of these ministries together. Curtis currently serves on the Prayer Team, co-leads the Wednesday Night Men’s Bible Study, is the Men’s Ministry Leadership Team lead, and is a member of the Trustees.
Curtis loves to read and keeps up on developments in astronomy and physics. He and Mary love spending time with and going on adventures with their children and German Shepherd, and spending time with their grandson. He is also a fan of the Seahawks and Sounders.
